Happy Friday, folks! What way to start the weekend than to make some apple ring fritters? These apple ring fritters are so delicious! And the good thing about this apple ring fritters is that they can be eaten as a dessert or as a breakfast. For breakfast, just pair with fruits of your choice and as a dessert sprinkle some cinnamon powder, powdered sugar and dig in!
Apple ring fritters are very simple to make and you can’t go wrong with them. I’ve you tried my apple fritters yet? If you’ve not tried it, you’re really missing out…lol.
This apple ring fritters batter is similar to pancake batter, although I didn’t use the previous pancake batter I’ve used before this batter is very close to it and it’s also delicious.
You might want to try;
- 4 Granny Smith Apple (or your choice; peeled, core and slice)
- 1 Cup all-purpose flour
- 2 Teaspoons Baking powder
- ½ Teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 Large Egg
- 4 Tablespoons Butter/oil
- ¾ Cup Milk
- Dash Lemon juice
- 2 Tablespoons Sugar (or as desired)
- 1 Teaspoon Vanilla extract
- ½ Teaspoon Salt
- Oil for frying
-
Whisk all the dry ingredients; flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, sugar as little or as much as you want.
-
Combine both dry and wet ingredients together and set aside.
-
Mix all the dry ingredients except the lemon juice; oil or butter(melted), vanilla, milk, and egg.
-
Peel the apples, core, and slice (make sure it’s not too thick) about ¼ inch thickness is okay. Drizzle splash of lemon juice over the apple to avoid turning brown. P.S You can peel, slice then use a knife to core the middle. You can also use a corer.
-
Add enough oil for frying in a skillet or a frying pan and allow to heat over medium heat, allow to get hot to about 350 degrees F.
-
Dip in a sliced apple into the batter, allow to drip off the excess and drop into the hot oil, be careful when you’re dropping it not to splash the hot oil. You can use a fork for the dipping and dropping into the hot oil pan.
-
Fry on both sides until golden brown. Allow the oil to get to the previous temperature and continue to fry until you’re done. I got about 15 pieces.
-
Drain on paper towel, you can enjoy it as dessert or breakfast.
-
For dessert, sprinkle cinnamon powder, and/powdered sugar.
-
For breakfast, serve with fruits, milk/juice and enjoy!
