I love most of the Asian meals I have tried over the years and this wrap is not left out. Asian beef lettuce wrap is a fun meal to make and delicious, if you want a break from your usual meal, try this wrap. You can eat it all day every day without any guilt. You can use any type of lettuce you like; butterhead bibb/Boston…., I use green leaf lettuce. Let’s get started!
- 1 Pound Ground beef
- 1 Tablespoon Olive oil
- 2 Cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1 Onion (chopped)
- 1/8 Cup Hoisin sauce
- 2 Tablespoons Soy sauce
- 1 Teaspoon Minced ginger
- Dash of hot sauce
- 1/2 Lemon juice
- 1.5 Red bell peppers (green, red, and yellow); chopped
- Lettuce
- Knorr bouillon powder/cube
- Salt and pepper
-
Rinse the lettuce and drain.
Place a saucepan/pot over medium heat, and add the olive oil.
-
Add the minced ginger, garlic, and onions. Saute for a few seconds.
-
Add the bell peppers and cook for a couple of minutes. Remove and set aside.
-
In the same pan, add the ground beef and break apart using a spoon/ladle.
-
Cook until it's almost cooked but not pink.
-
Drain all the excess oil from the beef.
-
Transfer the onion and peppers mixture and stir.
-
In a small bowl, mix the hoisin and soy sauces together.
-
Pour the sauces into the beef and combine.
-
Add knorr and mix, check for salt before adding because the sauces contain salt.
-
Check and reseason accordingly. Let it cool down before serving.
-
Spoon some of the beef over the lettuce. Wrap it (like a taco) and enjoy!
I like the mincemeat sauce
