There are various recipes for fried rice, especially the Asian fried rice and most of the ones I’ve tried are all delicious, I love most of them. Anytime we eat out or get takeout from the Chinese restaurant, the fried rice must be on the plate. I will be sharing some of the Chinese fried rice recipes I have tried and we love. One is on the menu today. Mostly the Chinese fried rice is prepared with Jasmine rice, (I don’t usually use it) and I recommend a day old rice. In this recipe, I didn’t use Jasmine rice I used Blue Ribbon that’s the name on the bag. You can use any type of rice you like and still enjoy it, what would be missing is the scent of the Jasmine.
Also, you can use any vegetable you like and you can double the vegetable quantity. You can swap the beef for chicken, pork, or sausage if that’s what you like or have. Chinese Fried Rice is a flexible recipe that you tweak to fit to whatever you have in your pantry or refrigerator.
I hope you would try this, no restaurant takeout can beat this.
- 3 Cups Cooked rice
- 1 Cup Green onion
- 1/4 Cup Peas
- 1 Cup Carrot (diced)
- 1 Cup Beef thinly diced
- 1 Clove Minced Garlic (optional)
- 1/2 Cup Onion (chopped)
- 2 Tablespoons Low Sodium Soy sauce
- 1 Tablspoon Oyster sauce or dark sauce
- 2 Tablespoons Oil (your choice)
- Seasoning cube
- 2 Eggs
- Salt and pepper
-
Prepare all the ingredients before you start to cook. Chopped all the vegetables.
-
Crack the eggs, season with seasoning cube, salt, and pepper and beat lightly.
-
In a work or skillet add a tablespoon of oil and coat the wok, scramble the eggs, scoop into another plate and set aside.
-
Add the remaining oil in the same pan and saute the chopped onion and garlic if using for a few seconds. Add carrot and stir-fry for about 1 minute.
-
Move the vegetables to the side and add seasoned beef and cook (it won't take long because they are very tiny pieces).
-
Add scrambled eggs and cut into pieces with the cooking spoon, add rice and mix thoroughly.
-
Add peas and stir. Pour the sauce mix.
-
Mix everything thoroughly. You might notice turkey slice in the pot, It has been sitting in my refrigerator for a while and immediately I remember I quickly diced it up and throw it in the pot.
-
Add green onions and let it warm up.
-
Take the skillet off the heat.
-
Enjoy.
Note:
If you don't have oyster or dark sauce you can use just low sodium soy sauce in the same quantity.
