Garlic toast bread is basically mixing butter and other seasonings over slices of bread then toast in the oven. I don’t like buying garlic toast bread from the store. It is very easy to make and doesn’t take time, so why not make yours?
This garlic toast bread can be prepared with any slices of bread but I like using Italian bread, homemade bread any Texas toast which I love; you know the popular saying “everything is big in Texas”, and that’s why I love the Texas toast because the slices are big compared to other slices of bread.
If you’re using a loaf of bread don’t use a fresh one, a day old bread is good. I used red pepper flake but it is optional. If you love paprika or cayenne pepper they’re a good substitute too and also it is optional.
You can pair this garlic toast bread with soup, sandwich or as it is, our kids love them as is.
You might want to try;
- 6 Slices Texas Toast bread
- 1 Stick Unsalted butter (softened)
- 2 tablespoons Garlic powder
- 1 Teaspoon Onion powder
- ½ Teaspoon Red pepper flake (optional)
- ½ Teaspoon Italian seasoning (or oregano)
- 1/2 Tablespoon Fresh parsley (optional)
- Salt and pepper
-
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F, line a baking sheet with foil and set aside.
-
In a bowl, add all the ingredients and season with salt and pepper.
-
Smear both sides of each bread with the butter mixture the place on the lined baking sheet, repeat the process with the remaining bread.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for about 3-4 minutes, flip and continue baking for another 2-3 minutes depending on how dark you want your toast.
-
Serve and enjoy with soup, egg or just chow it down as is.
-
Enjoy!
