Happy New Week, guys! How’s the month of June going? It’s the season of grilling even though summer is yet to start but all the same, the weather is good and why not grill? So, today recipe is grilled shrimp, it’s a very simple dish and super delicious!
This grilled shrimp was marinated for a very short time in lemon juice, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, basil, oregano, olive oil, and of course salt and pepper.
After a long day at work, this recipe is all you need because you can have these shrimps on your table in less than 30 minutes that’s how fast and easy the recipe is. You can serve this with rice, couscous, vegetables, even salad.
If you don’t have a grill use your oven, broil part of the oven, and if you want to use an outdoor grill it works for it too, even a stove top grill will perfectly cook these shrimps. You can make this recipe without the skewers but if you’re going to use the outdoor grill you need the skewers so the shrimps don’t drop into the grill through the grates. I left the tails of the shrimp on but feel free to take them off if you desire.
You might want to try;
- 1 Pound Raw shrimps (peeled, deveined, and tail on/off)
- 2 Tablespoons Olive oil; plus more for greasing (or your choice)
- 1 Teaspoon Smoked Paprika
- 1 Teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1 Teaspoon Onion powder
- 1 Teaspoon Oregano
- 1/4 Teaspoon Dried Basil
- 1/4 Teaspoon Cayenne pepper
- 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
- Salt and pepper
-
Soak the skewer (if you're using wooden skewers) in a tray of cold water to avoid burning.
-
In a bowl or zip-lock, add all the ingredients and leave to marinate for at least 10 minutes. You can't marinate shrimp for a very long time like chicken.
-
Thread the shrimps onto the skewers and set aside. Heat the grill, and grease with oil to avoid sticking, place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until shrimps are pink and opaque.
-
Serve and enjoy!
