This ground chicken sauce is a basic sauce that is good for dinner week meal if you don’t want to stress yourself in the kitchen and need something tasty and flavorful this is a good one that you need to try. This ground chicken sauce has zucchini in it.
The zucchini was grated into the sauce but feel free to take it out or add more if you desire. The zucchini gives it more texture that you won’t get from just the ground chicken. The tomato sauce used in this ground chicken sauce was just a few tablespoons but if you want more of tomato sauce add more as you want but make sure you thoroughly cook the tomato taste to avoid the sourness from it.
You might want to try;
- 1 Pound Ground chicken
- 1 Zucchini (grated/chopped)
- 3 Tablespoons Tomato paste (you can use more)
- 2 Cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1 Teaspoon Fresh ginger
- ½ Cup Onion (chopped)
- 1 Teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 Tablespoon Olive oil (or your choice)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Grate the zucchini, chop the onion and set aside.
Heat oil in a non-skillet pan or pot, add onion and saute until softens, add the Italian seasoning, garlic, tomato paste, stir and continue cooking until you can't taste the sourness from the tomato paste.
Add the ground chicken and allow to cook for a few minutes before breaking it apart. Use a spoon or ladle to break the chicken, season with salt and pepper and continue to cook.
Allow the chicken to cook thoroughly then add the grated zucchini then combine. Cook until the vegetable warm up about 1 minute. Check the seasoning and adjust accordingly.
Serve over rice, pasta or your favorite side.
