Plantain chip is one of the easiest recipes ever, you don’t have to buy plantain chips again. It is so easy and doesn’t take time at all. All you need is unripe plantains and a few other ingredients. Plantain chip is one of my favorite snacks to eat.
You might want to try;
- 2 Unripe or slightly ripe plantains
- 1 Teaspoon Paprika
- Onion powder
- Oil for frying
- Salt
-
Peel off the skin of the plantains
-
Slice the plantains, I used mandoline to slice. You can use a knife to thinly slice the plantains.
-
Season the plantains by sprinkling the salt, paprika, and onion powder over them and mix.
-
Heat up oil (enough for frying) in a fryer or in a pot, make sure it's hot. Drop the seasoned sliced plantains one by one (don't overcrowd the pot) inside the hot oil and fry until golden brown.
-
Drain on paper towels, repeat the process until you fry all the plantains.
-
Enjoy.
If you like spicy plantains you can sprinkle some dry pepper or cayenne pepper, and if you don't want any spice just sprinkle salt over it and fry.
If you don't want to fry you can bake it in the oven.Â
