Taco cups are crowd-pleasers very easy to make and cleaning is in a jiffy. You can incorporate all the toppings you like in tacos in this taco cups. I used store-bought wonton wrappers, you can use tortillas trim the edges to give big squares then into small squares.
Mini muffins pans were used, I greased the pan lined with one wonton wrapper filled it with the beef mixture topped it with shredded cheese then place another wonton wrapper top with beef mixture and cheese again. So, I used two wrappers for each muffin if you’re using tortilla you don’t have to use two layers of the tortillas.

Tortilla Pesto Pizza With Shrimp
- 26 pieces Wonton wraps/tortilla flour
- 1 Pound Ground beef
- 1 cup onion (chopped)
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- 1 Cup Tomato sauce or diced tomatoes
- 2 Teaspoons Taco Seasoning
- 2 cup shredded Cheddar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking spray/melted butter/oil (for pan greasing)
- Chopped tomatoes (for serving)
- Sour cream for serving (for serving)
- Avocado (for serving)
- Green onion (for serving)
- Diced tomatoes (for serving)
-
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease muffin pan with cooking spray/butter/oil. Line with wonton wrappers and set aside.
-
If you’re using tortilla cut out tortillas into square shapes then cut into small squares like wonton wrappers size, I’m using wonton wrapper, so I don’t need to cut. Place a wonton wrapper or the cut-out tortilla into each cup of the muffin pan, folding the edges if necessary and set aside.
-
In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Add onion and cook until softened, it takes about 5 minutes.
-
Add ground beef, breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon, cook until it's no longer pink then drain any excess fat. Season with taco seasoning, salt, and pepper then combine until the beef is fully cooked, check the seasoning and readjust
-
Spoon cooked beef mixture into each wonton wrapper or tortillas (inside the muffin pan) then top with cheese.
-
Add another layer of wonton wrapper/tortilla, scoop some beef mixture then top with shredded cheddar, I had small ground beef left so I used a ramekins to cook it.
-
Brush the wonton edges with oil then bake until the tortillas are golden around the edges and the cheese has melted about 10 minutes.
-
Garnish with tomatoes, cheese, and sour cream.
-
Enjoy!
