Homemade Applesauce Recipe

  • 5 Pounds Apple (mixed)Peeled, cored and quartered
  • 1/2 Cup Maple syrup (or water or apple cider)
  • 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 Teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 3 Tablespoons Lemon juice


  1. Peel the apples, core, and quartered. You can dice them up also.

  2. Place a large saucepan/pot over medium-high heat. Add the cut up apples.

  3. Add the cinnamon, nutmeg.

  4. Add lemon juice, water, and maple syrup. Mix to incorporate everything.

  5. Boil for about 25 minutes until the apples are soft.

  6. If you want some chunks lightly mash them. Or blend if you want your applesauce smooth. If you're blending please be careful as the content is hot.

  7. Pour the applesauce into a sterilized jar. Let it cool cover and refrigerate.

 Applesauce can be without sugar, so feel free to make it without sugar.
