Gather the ingredients, chop the parsley and green onions. Wash and drain the rice. Set aside.
Place a saucepan/pot over medium heat and melt the butter. Add the green onions, garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
Add 4 cups of water (you can reduce the quantity of water if you don’t know what quantity of water to cook the type of rice you’re cooking with) and stir.
Cover and bring to a rolling boil on high heat, seasoning with salt, cover and reduce the heat to medium-heat simmer until the rice is fully cooked and all the liquid is absorbed.
