Patty melt with eggs are basically sandwiches made up of beef patty, cheese, onions, and egg, it could be prepared without eggs, so the egg is totally optional. It is an easy breakfast which most people use rye bread (my kids won’t eat it) so, I used a different type of bread, you can use any type of bread. I prepared this for the kids but if you’re making this for adults you might want to increase the quantity of the ground beef. Let’s get started!
- 1 Pound Ground beef
- 4 Eggs
- 1 Onion (sliced)
- 1 Teaspoon Onion powder
- 1 Teaspoon Garlic powder
- 2 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 Tablespoons Butter (plus more for bread)
- Knorr bouillon powder or cube
- 8 Slice cheese (your choice)
- 8 Slices of Bread (your choice)
- Slat and pepper
-
In a large bowl, add the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, knorr, salt, onion, and garlic powder. Mix to combine.
-
Place a small saucepan over a medium heat. Add butter and let the butter gets hot then add the sliced onion and saute for about 10 minutes or until lightly golden brown, add salt and pepper. When it is done set aside.
-
Divide the ground beef into four, and form each into a thin patty. Excuse the shape my daughter flattened the patty.
-
In the same pan, add the patties and cook on both sides for about 5-6 minutes until the patties are cooked.
-
Mix the eggs with knorr, salt, and pepper
-
While cooking the patties, place another pan over medium heat (or wait until you're done with the patties then clean the pan with a paper towel) add oil and scramble the eggs. You don't want your egg to crumble in order to hold up.
-
Place the skillet over a low heat, spread butter over one side of the bread (butter side down) and place in the hot skillet, a cheese (you can add more), add some of the eggs.
-
Then another cheese, followed by the cooked onions, then a sliced bread butter side up. Toast or grill the bread until the cheese melt. Flip and toast or grill the other side. You don't want your bread to swim in oil, just grease the side you want to use.
-
Patty melt is ready, continue until you're done with rest of the patty.
-
Slice up and eat.
Note:
I sliced up my cheese myself if you don't have slice cheese slice up the one you have and feel free to use any kind of your choice.
