Strawberry Scones recipe is a very simple recipe/ breakfast to make but you need to make sure that all the ingredients are cold except, of course, the dry ingredients. When you’re making this recipe make sure you work as fast as possible. It is so simple and delicious, anytime I make this recipe that’s always my breakfast for that week…lol
let’s get started!
- 2 Cups All-purpose flour (more for dusting)
- 1 Cup Strawberry (clean, and diced)
- 1/2 Cup Heavy cream
- 1/4 Cup Granulate sugar (adjust to your preference)
- 2 Egg (divided)
- 1 Tablespoon Baking powder
- 6 Tablespoon Unsalted butter
- 1 Teaspoon Lemon juice
- 1 Teaspoon Lemon zest
- 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
-
Preheat the oven to 400 F degrees.
Line a baking sheet with a parchment paper grease with a cooking spray or oil or butter then set aside.
-
In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
-
Cut the butter into small pieces and add to the flour mixture.
-
Combine the butter and flour mixture, it is okay to have some whole like a peas size butter in the mixture.
-
Combine an egg, heavy cream, lemon zest and lemon juice.
-
Combine the egg mixture with flour mixture together. Add about a tablespoon of flour into the strawberry and combine.
-
Add the diced strawberry to the dough and combine.
-
Dump the dough on a floured surface and gently knead the dough. If it's sticky sprinkle some flour over the dough.
-
Shape the dough to about 1-inch thickness and 8-inch circle.
-
Cut into a triangle.
-
Place the dough into the baking sheet, make sure you space the dough out.
-
Whisk the remaining egg with water; about one tablespoon. Brush the dough with egg lightly. Bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
-
Strawberry Scone is ready.
-
Serve and enjoy!
