Who doesn’t like juicy, flavorful, and delicious chicken? You all need to try this Tandoori chicken recipe to know what I’m talking about. Tandoori chicken is native to Indians and it is everything you want in a chicken recipe.
This is recipe is simply delicious and to crown it all, it is very simple to make. I used an air fryer to make it but you can cook it in a pan, grill, or simply bake it. To make this recipe, you need to remove the chicken skins and slash to allow all the goodness in the ingredients to get into every bone and flesh of the chicken.
You can serve the chicken with rice, naan bread, salad, flatbread, or eat as is.
Check out these recipes, you might want to try them:
- 10 drumstick chickens (cleaned and skin off)
- ¾ cup plain yogurt
- 2 Tablespoons Vegetables Oil
- 1 Tablespoon sweet paprika
- 1 Teaspoon Ground masala coriander, cumin, turmeric, cayenne (each)
- 2 cloves garlic minced; you can use more if you desire
- Fresh Ginger (minced)
- Splash of fresh lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
-
Clean chicken, remove skins, and use a knife to slash into the chicken and set aside.
-
Add the rest of the ingredients and rub them into the chicken. You can mix the ingredients separately then add chicken whichever way is convenient. I prefer to add everything in the same bowl, it reduces time and effort...lol.
-
Mix and marinate the chicken in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, I marinated for 6 hours.
-
When you’re ready to cook, remove the chicken from the refrigerator and preheat the air fryer to 375 for 5 mins.
-
Add the chicken removing excess marinade and cook for 15 mins-20 mins depending on the air fryer.
-
Flip and cook for another 5-7 mins, flip around, and add about 2-3 more minutes to fully cook the chicken.
-
Keep in mind that the size of the chicken and the heat of the air fryer might differ. Ensure not to allow the chicken to dry. The temperature and time I used gave juicy and soft end-result. You might need to flip around and ass more minutes to give beautiful dark color as shown in the picture.

Serve and enjoy!
